Nurturing self-belief and unlocking potential in a young, female leader

I worked with Chhavi over the course of six months to build her confidence and help her explore and refine her ambitions for the next phase of her career. An extremely talented and driven individual, she needed a sounding board and someone to work through concerns and questions with. Mine was a privileged role: reflecting her talents back at her, helping her dial down doubts, and working with her to pursue her professional development.

I gave feedback and advice on job applications, cover letters and interview preparation and talked with her about the sort of roles that would challenge and engage her. I encouraged her to write and show up as herself rather than who she thought people wanted her to be. Towards the end of our time working together, it was a delight to see her step into a new job at an organisation very much aligned with her passion and focus.

Working with Amy genuinely changed how I see myself and my career. I reached out to her after being struck by her insight and presence on a project, and I’m so grateful I did. Her rare blend of directness and compassion helped me build confidence, communicate with clarity, and find a renewed sense of direction. She gave honest feedback, celebrated progress, and asked the kind of thoughtful questions that challenged and shifted my perspective. I came away with more patience, determination, and a clear plan of action. The self-belief I gained through her mentorship has been transformative—and her influence continues to shape how I show up every day.
